Candied Pecans

If you noticed in the Apple Pecan Salad recipe I posted, it calls for candied pecans which are so easy to make and really elevate the dish. You can make these just to snack on, for any baked goods you are preparing, as a Christmas gift treat for friends and family, or for a salad topping which is what I’ll be using these for!

Candied Pecans:

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 egg white

  • 1 tablespoon water

  • 1 pound pecan halves

1) Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

2) Mix sugar, cinnamon, and salt together in a bowl.

3) Whisk egg white and water together in a separate bowl until frothy. Toss pecans in the egg white mixture.

4) Mix sugar mixture into pecan mixture until pecans are evenly coated. Spread coated pecans onto a baking sheet.

5) Bake in the preheated oven, stirring every 15 minutes, until pecans are evenly browned. About 1 hour.
